anu selects her top tracks by women artists for International Women’s Day to get you ready for the debut of NAFF on Saturday 9 March.
Rhythm Section affiliate and NTS mainstay anu is making moves. In the last year she’s been announced as part of Dimensions Festival’s new DJ Directory, as well as performing a Resident Advisor Live at Brilliant Corners quickly followed by a Boiler Room appearance. Check out her International Women’s Day playlist below, and catch her live at NAFF on Saturday 9 March.
Here’s a list of 5 tracks i love by womxn. This list could have been a lot longer, but this is what I’ve been listening to at the moment. A few of these tracks have a darker sound that really resonates with me – notably AFRODUETSCHE (you should listen to her show on NTS) and Thoom (Club Chai is one of the best labels out there). Powder’s new track from her Powder In Space compilation comes with an amazing autobiographical animation which I LOVE. I had to include Solange and Roxanne Shante in this list as they are both powerful and inspiring women ❤
AFRODUETSCHE – Guess What
This track has a darker sound which resonates with me and AFRODUETSCHE does that so perfectly. Her monthly show on NTS Manchester is one I always look forward to listening to.
Thoom – حرّكت السكوت
Powder – New Tribe
Roxanne Shante – Have A Nice Day
Catch anu alongside Mama Snake, Miley Serious, Shyboi, and Blasha & Allatt at NAFF on Saturday 9 March.
